We are a crafty pair!
So I have just realised that I completely forgot to share with you the messy fun that was this weeks fairy and pirate tots, so here it is.
This week Mimi was in a much better mood, although during the welcome song she was more interested in standing up and wiggling her bum than waving at least she did it in time to the music. After running off with pirate Pete we got down to the job in hand, – a treasure box. We were shown how to fix them together, and then given a few ideas on how we might like to decorate them. Out came the tabards and poster paints and we were off!
We started with the butterflies and caterpillars, then we added red and yellow spots to the top of our box, on the sides we created flowers with leaves and added scrabble tiles of Mimi’s initials to the box closure. Then we needed to wait for the paint to dry. So Mimi had a play on the soft play before joining in with a ‘bug run’ where we all grabbed hold of a blue sheet river, and sent bugs (balloons, ball pit balls and soft toy bugs) into a paddling pool pond. Once home and dry I added detail to Mimi’s fingerprints using sharpie pens to turn them into bees, ladybirds, caterpillars and put stems on the flowers.
All we need to do now is fill it with treasures! Again we had so much fun getting really messy and creative.
I love this! How fabulous! I want to come and join in… #triballove
