Jamberry review and giveaway

When the very lovely Laila at Jamberry asked me to take the 7 day Jamberry challenge, review and run a giveaway for her, I was very excited. I have always loved getting my nails done but since Mimi came along I don’t really have the time (or money) to go out every 2 weeks and get a new set of acrylics – and to be fair its taken best part of 3 years for my nails to recover from the years of abuse I’ve put them through.

My samples arrived, beautifully presented my I add. And all I could think was, roll on bedtime, I couldn’t wait to have a play! Now I’m going to be honest what followed was the hardest part of the process, choosing which design to use for my feature nails from the 9 stunning designs Laila had sent me, I finally settled on a design called ‘Kite Tail’.

I started by first removing all the polish from my nails, then I cut the nail wrap in half and measured it against my nails to find which one it would fit the best. Next I gently pushed back the cuticle on that finger nail on each hand using an orange stick and cleaned with the alcohol wipes provided, next I peeled off one the wraps that I had cut in half,  I then warmed it up for about 3-5 seconds using my hairdryer and gently placed it on my nail and smoothed it from the middle out using a rubber cuticle pusher and the fingers on my other hand, making sure that the edges are pushed down, I warmed the nail again for around 5sec to insure it was completely bonded, I then carefully trimmed the excess wrap from the end before filing off the remaining excess in a downward motion and vola it was done!

I used the Jamberry wrap as a feature nail and then painted the rest of my nails in a co-ordinating polish.

Talk about instant gratification!

I have had so many complements while out and about, the ladies in Aldi didn’t believe that i had done them at home using a nail wrap kit! I also found then a bit of a distraction, when trying to get any thing done, they are just so pretty all I want to do is look at them all the time!

Now I have to confess it was meant to be a 7 day challenge, but I actually kept mine on longer, they actually lasted 10 days! And I think they would have lasted few days longer, but my polished nails were looking a bit worse for wear and we had a family do so I reluctantly removed them.

I have to say I’m was really impressed with the look and ease of use of these nails and am trying to reduce my ‘want list’, there are just so many pretty designs to choose from! Check them out here
